* * *
this week the baby turned 8-months, the big girl turns 5years+8months, and mama realized that staying out until 3am on a school night requires several days of post-outing recovery (blame the kindergarten moms; they’re a wild bunch). this week i sang with the philharmonic, i tried ethiopian food for the first time*, i smashed my camera on the sidewalk** and subsequently bought a new camera***, and i got officially hired to sing in a choir i’ve been subbing with for a few weeks now. this week i actually sat still long enough to watch a movie with The Mister.**** this week i made sloppy joes for dinner; emma’s been begging to try them, and is still talking about how amazing they were*****. this week some new opportunities fell into my lap, and i need to decide whether or not to pursue them. this week i fell more behind in work and realized it’s really really time to simplify and streamline. this week i repeatedly wished for a housekeeper and/or cleaning elf, but suspected that i’d spend the night before every visit eagerly cleaning so as not to seem slobby. this week i felt really rushed and disjointed a lot of the time, but i’m blaming the schedule and the season-change. this week i wore a flower in my hair to ward off rainy-day blues. this week i committed every single hug, snuggle, smile, and wave to memory.
ahhh….i hope your week was a little slower, a little less expensive, but every bit as cuddly and adventurous. have a happy weekend, my friends. xo

* i really liked it. it’s probably not for everyone, but i’ll definitely be going again soon.
** the baby carriage was starting to fall backwards with the baby inside. i could feel my camera slipping off my arm, but felt it was probably best to catch the baby before catching the camera. it was an expensive decision, but i think it was the right one.

***** they were just fine. sloppy joes aren’t exactly haute cuisine, you know? emma gratefully gobbled them up, though, and her enthusiasm was sweet salve on a hectic day.
