the start of a five-day weekend…i needed this one. still trying to gather my thoughts and perspective; recalibrating in so many ways. we booked some last-minute accommodations in cape cod, one of my favorite places on earth, and i have big dreams of taking in a truro sunset, sitting down to read mary oliver/sort pictures/make lists to the accompanying sound of ocean waves, getting pictures of baby’s first beach visit, antique shopping, and eating our weight in fish+chips.

i’m hoping for clarity, but will settle for peace, quiet, happy family time, and a few glasses of wine.

sending out positive thoughts and lots of love to mom & dad as they pick up the carnage from the big storm that hit wednesday night. the big trees in the front are twisted and downed, the electricity is still out, and there’s lots of heart-wrenching cleanup ahead.
