remember that scene in the movie when ET gets put in the toy closet and just kind of blends in with the stuffed animals? babies are kind of like that…basically go-with-the-flow, along for the ride, roly-poly and kind of squeaky, sweetly pink-cheeked, and ridiculously, heart-meltingly adorable. well, i think my baby is like that, anyway.

of course, i thought the same thing about ET (who, in retrospect, was not actually very cute), so my judgement may be easily clouded.

this is the face of “one month old” at our house.

i never want to put her down, and i don’t like to look away for long, because i know that in just a few short years she’ll be towering over that big stuffed bear, long limbs and long hair hanging off the edges of the chair.

and as much as i love the age and (still cuddly, fits-in-lap) size of that big girl on the right, i can’t bear to think about how quickly she’s changing, too. we all are, i suppose.
