in between the holiday chores, rehearsals and busywork, we had a great time with my parents’ visit to the City. the biting cold wind didn’t stop us from enjoying the radio city christmas spectacular (i’m still going to be a rockette someday. probably), emma’s school christmas program (good thing i always have the camera in hand; she hadn’t told us in advance that she was introducing the whole show – so confidently and sweetly into the microphone), and plenty of good food (mom even brought her own fixin’s and crockpot for a home-cooked meal before she left). my birthday was sweet and happy, and emma’s excitement for santa’s visit is downright contagious and seriously magical.

i love this season, i really do.
