* * *
today i’m so thankful for imagination, for little girls (and grown-ups, too) who are bold and secure, for kids that like to play with blocks and tiaras and a stack full of cd’s, for little bits of bling and dress-up (even a cheap sequined pillbox hat) that make you feel fun and fancy, for the early bonds of friendship between children, for emma’s school and the teachers that i love just as much as she does, for easy rehearsals and energetic conductors, for hot chocolate with really soft marshmallows, for the contentment that comes from pitching in and helping, for the compacter and recycling room just down the hall which makes taking out the trash a job so easy even a four-year-old can do it, for my grandma’s 7-layer-salad recipe, for really sharp pencils, for my favorite knitting needles, for a full day off tomorrow, and for all the people that i love.
happy, happy, thanksgiving tomorrow. i hope your day is filling and sweet, comfortable and happy.
xoxo
