two more days of parties, candy and costuming, and i’m exhausted already. the kids had a party at school today, and even they seemed a little overwhelmed, a little tired out by the whole thing…trying to determine where to look, what to do, and how to avoid all those parents that insist on pushing and shoving to get flash-eyed pictures of their own kids.
i’m sounding so positive, right? no, really, it’s good. as a matter of fact, i have so much work to do in the next two days that i’m just kind of finished with the festivities by default (also, let’s face it: i already got my halloween pictures, so i’m happy to move on). i fully expect that the deluge of christmas advertising and decorating will start to appear everywhere in the next week or two, and i’m actually feeling excited to begin those holidays and the super-speed-nonstop rehearsal/performance season that will take us through the end of the year.
we’re trying to work out the details of the little time we have off at thanksgiving (back to cape may? cape cod? make reservations somewhere in town and watch the parade on tv? all i know is that we’ve got 1.5 days off, mama’s not going to cook, and the apartment isn’t nearly clean enough for company), and that feels like it will be here in the blink of an eye. i’ll be much more cheerful and mirth-filled by then, i promise.

hope you take some time to savor this crazy candy-filled weekend, if that’s your thing. eat some candy corn for me, please; it’s my favorite.
xoxo
