[i wish]

~ i wish… the iphone worked on verizon service, because i really really want one
~ i wish… my kid never woke up in the night yelling from crazy bad dreams
~ i wish… my back didn’t hurt 93% of the time
~ i wish… i had a pair of roller skates and somewhere fun to use them (like a big wooden-floor rink with disco lights and fun music, just like the old days when our parents dropped us off at United Skates of America on saturday afternoons)
~ i wish… we had a big watermelon patch and just had to walk to the backyard to get fresh melon all summer
~ i wish… the finance box was a little more full
~ i wish… i could have a summer full of free time
~ i wish… emma’s dance school gave recitals instead of just having “parents’ day” once a semester. kids in tutus and tap shoes are really really cute.
~ i wish… i could find a perfectly-fitting bra that looks good and does its job and doesn’t get gross on hot summer days
~ i wish… i was asleep, or at least lying in bed watching a real housewives show or toddlers and tiaras or maybe even the people’s court; something classy like that.

~ i love… using semicolons, but i think full colons are much more typographically pleasing ( ;;; ::: )
~ i love… when i color my own hair and it turns out better than my last trip to the salon
~ i love… left-handedness. i’ve always always wanted to be a lefty.
~ i love… people with the good sense (and free hands) to use a parasol to guard against the sun
~ i love… macaroons
~ i love… getting paid to sing Beethoven
~ i love… pretty dishes and drinking glasses that are not-too-flimsy and not-too-bulky
~ i love… sleeping with one foot peeking out from under the bed covers
~ i love… the smell of summer rain on a hot sidewalk
~ i love… soft color-washed hues
~ i love… being around people that just get it

now i’m off to dream about my *wish* list and experience at least three from the *love* list. hope your day is filled with little things that make you happy & give you the joy that can only be known from crossing things off a long to-do list.
