at four, my daughter loves herself. she’s confident and secure and filled with love for everyone she meets.
girls, as they get older, tend to lose some of that confidence. they forget that being yourself is enough. they worry what other people will think if they don’t look the right way or dress the right way or have the right stuff. some of us never really get past the point of keeping up appearances and being afraid to let ourselves just be. some of us don’t ever reclaim that part of ourselves that knew, even at age 4, that being yourself is a great gift.
i hope this girl always knows she is loved. i hope this girl always spreads love with her smile and her spirit. i hope this girl knows that who she is = someone very mighty and beautiful and unique in this world. i hope she always has the disposition and confidence she has at four.
she inspires me every day; to be a better mother, to be a stronger woman, and to spread love with sincerity and joy.
happy weekend, my friends. love is on my mind and in my heart; i hope you’re feeling it, too.
xoxo
