[she loves her new sunglasses. i think they're fun, but they remind me of Mr. Kotter's wife Julie.]

i don’t know if it’s a life with children thing, or a life in new york city thing, or maybe just an grown-up life is like this for everybody thing, but each week feels like it only has about three days, and i’m trying to fit seven-days’ worth of action into this flying timeline… so, you’re probably reading this on friday, but it definitely feels like wednesday to me.
maybe i just need a vacation.
we’re not going on vacation any time soon, actually. it’s a holiday weekend for most, but i’ve got two photo-shoots, a mass to sing, a super-messy house, and loads of catching up to do, and an aversion to memorial day weekend. this holiday weekend has sometimes been an emotional one for me (this was the weekend my grandfather passed away. another memorial day weekend, Bear, Beej and I were in a big car accident and got stuck at a bob evans restaurant in rural ohio for a very very long time, waiting for a greyhound bus that never came to rescue us. oh, and there’s this big car race on Sunday which reminds me of my biological-dad, and not just because his ashes are scattered along the infield). esentially, i’m just hoping to lay low and take lots of naps this weekend.
i reserve the right to run away to the beach on monday, of course…
