i have this fun new lens/toy for my camera called a lensbaby. basically, it’s supposed to make most of the picture pretty blurry, but for a very small focus point. it’s plastic and cute and quirky i haven’t quite gotten the hang of it (which may explain why the focus points in this picture are so random, and i kept yelling “stand still with that snowball! don’t move…i can’t focus that fast!!!”), but the snowstorm seemed like kind of a perfect time to use it.

some people build snowpeople or go sledding. my snowdays (and rainydays and sunnydays and cloudydays…) are structured around the picture opportunities.

this one was taken with a different lens. i can’t resist those flushed snowy cheeks and wet eyelashes:
