i’ve got my toes at the edge of the line between “slightly frantic” and “suddenly overwhelmed” and i’m trying to talk myself into some zen calm. too much going on this week, too many people waiting on things from me, too many big (huge!) projects on the calendar, too many places to be at all times, too many details to pull together, too little rest over the last few days, too little time to myself, too many worries about finances and jobs and deadlines and what-ifs… wow, this really does feel like december!

don’t get me wrong: it’s all ok. (most) everything i’m doing is something i love or something i want to do (pictures, singing, family-ing), there’s just a lot of it and a lot riding on all of it. Bear has been working insane hours and emma’s been pushing bedtime boundaries and it’s got us all out of our usual routine.

this week i’ve got three outstanding photo-sessions to edit, a newborn shoot, 52 pictures of 3-year-olds to organize/take/edit, a wedding to sing, my own christmas cards to finish, and that cd still isn’t back in the hands of the engineer. i’m ready to start blogging about christmas memories and 2009 re-caps and day-in-the-life photos from my personal files, but it’s gonna be a few days before i can sit down that long.

on the lighter note, here are five things i’m loving today:

~ tinsel garland from the 99-cent store
~ the oil-infuser-thingy that makes our house smell like spruce trees (even though we haven’t actually bought a tree yet)
~ a goat cheese omelet and good coffee for brunch
~ ben & jerry’s ice cream on sale at the grocery, two-for-$5
~ finally, unexpectedly – after searching fruitlessly for months – finding a real old-school photo booth in manhattan!
~ awesome sun-flare in a last-minute snapshot:
