. . .
It’s 2:33 in the morning and i should really be sleeping, but i just had to watch this gawsh-darned sarah palin interview on oprah before i could go to bed. and all i’ll say is this: golly, she sure has pretty hair. also: don’t bother getting me her book for christmas….i bet you were considering it, right? but really: no thanks.
this morning my neighbor (ollie’s mom, georgina) and i are both going to the hospital for surgery. i’m having my gallbladder removed. she’s having a baby. this means that (a) i’ll get to sit back and enjoy the painkillers more than she will, and (b) i get to take brand-new-baby pictures next week, whilst still enjoying quiet full nights of sleep (well, full nights of sleep as long as S. Palin isn’t on my tv…). hooray!
. . .
my list for today:
[things i love, right this minute]
~ looking up in the sky and seeing a vivid rainbow even though it’s not raining. that happened today, and it was pure magic.
~ an electric bill that’s $10 less than this time last year. those funny spiral energy-saving lightbulbs might really make a difference, huh?
~ magazine subscriptions – not quite as exciting as getting an actual care package, but way more fun than just a mailbox full of junk mail.
~ an evening that ends with people getting out their guitars and playing for a while
~ bargain shopping, and finding exactly what you wanted for half the price you were prepared to pay
~ harmony
~ sincerity and generosity
see you in a couple days, everybody. cheers!
