oh, i’ve finally put my finger on the fact that monday and tuesday are my pseudo-weekend; anything that doesn’t get done on those days has little chance of breaking through the madness of the rest of the week. if it has to wait for the actual saturday/sunday weekend, the chances are very very slim it will get done at all (because those are literal workdays for me, of course).

two lists today:

[four things that happened]

~ today i saw a fight between two teenage boys on the street, surrounded by a mob of what must have been at least 50 other kids. when a group of the agitated kids ran to our side of the street, i heard one of the them say “man, let the lady and the kid get out of here first.” they stopped and quietly let me pass with the stroller before resuming their profanity-laced, super-agitated argument.

~ i taught myself to cable knit.

~ i swept the floor 5 times, admitted that it still wasn’t clean, and finally gave in & ordered a new vacuum cleaner.

~ found the box from my inexplicably broken wide-angle lens and realized i have two more years on the warranty.

~ brewing an entire pot of coffee in the morning (pumpkin spice; whole beans from M. Rohr’s which grind and brew at home), pouring one large serving into Bear’s super-leak-proof travel mug, one into my own perfect travel mug, and the rest into my silver thermos for refills all day.
