. . .
just a few more days of vacation pictures…. this is usually the point in sorting/editing a vacation when (bored, overwhelmed) i close the picture folders and leave them behind. BUT i’m going to stick with this one, at least get a full picture-album out of this trip. while we were in indy, our friend mary showed me her shelves full of family photo albums, sorted by year and event, three kids-full. i was inspired by looking at the orderliness. i was even more inspired when all three of her kids, at different times, pulled out photo albums to share memories with me. …so, i’m trying to keep with this project, do a better job of putting the pictures together. big, imperfect, happy snapshots; it was, after all, The Summer of The Snapshot.
meanwhile, back in NYC: we’re getting ready for the first day of school (today!), trying to soothe the itches of over 30 mosquito bites that have grown to the size of nickels and quarters, getting into the groove of ballet, tap, gymnastics and swimming lessons, making a demo recording of a cool choral piece, singing lots of weddings, still working out the mid-process details of two big projects (photo things, singing things), starting rehearsals soon for an American Symphony Orchestra gig, reading lots of magazines and two good books (note: there’s a cool playlist at the bottom of that second book link), picking out halloween costumes, listening to the new phish cd on a loop, scheduling a day to go apple picking, and looking forward to light-sweater-and-boots weather.

[i thought we could/should try a cousin picture on the porch swing. i abandoned that dream pretty quickly...]

[do not ask me why they have shoes on in the pool, nor why emma's are on the wrong feet.]

[belated happy birthday to Aunt Donna! we love you, even if you aren't much bigger than that 3-year-old! xoxo]

[the cousins were much easier to contain when food was involved. also, see my mom back there taking pictures? she's pretty cute, eh?]

[add "bouncy castle" to the long list of cool things at grandma and papaw's.]

[little windows and doors everywhere make for grand and creative adventure...]
