[long stories short]

~ nikon relented and gave me a new camera. after the ordeal-annoyance wore off, i realized that i had gone from a dusty (well-loved but hard-worn) camera with thousands of shutter clicks to a brand-spankin’-new D300. yeah, i’m ok now. anybody want me to take their picture?

~ what i’ve reaffirmed from the broken-camera-drama: buy the extended warranty and be prepared to fight for right.

~ renewed our zoo membership today. emma still loves the (lonely, only) cow at the petting zoo. his name’s Othello, but emma thinks it’s My Fellow, as in “let’s go see My Fella’ again!”

~ new york apartments don’t have screens on the windows. this is handy for cloud-watching in the daytime, but makes it impossible to sleep with the windows open because the mosquitos hunt me down and attack.

~ it should be noted, however, that i’m so used to being cheap with the electric bill that i actually forgot we have air conditioners throughout the apartment. hey! that’s a nice luxury.

~ emma’s sleep schedule is completely and suddenly wackadoo. it’s just unfair that no matter what time she finally falls asleep, she still wakes up at the same time every morning.

~ deadlines are looming. lots of work to do. wish i were more organized. wish my attention wasn’t so divided. .nothing to do now but sleep and start fresh tomorrow.
