. . . . . . . . .
greetings from cape cod.
i love it here. LOVE IT. i know i’ve said it before, but really: it’s my happy place.
as we drive around, i dream of beach access and beautiful homes with nautical stars on the door and white starfish decorating the windows.
emma’s dreams are a bit different: she loves all the mailboxes. “mailbox! another one! mailbox three, four…” funny kid.
it’s far too empty for a holiday weekend, which is wonderful for getting around, finding parking and getting a table at the chip shop, but troubling for the overall economy and success of the place. oh america, here’s hoping that next July 4th finds us healthier, heartier, and at least a wee bit more functional…
in any case, we’re having a wonderful time. two beaches today, more than a few more to catch tomorrow.
i’ve done a crossword on the beach (always part of the experience for me), and in between taking pictures and supervising sand-castling, i’d love to finish reading another chapter of Breakfast at Tiffany’s before we go home.
oh, and we’ve got to have ice cream at sundae school. and maybe here, too (look! they even serve pb&j!)… remember: calories sonsumed on holidays do not count!

[the colors of the water make my heart swell. stripes of turquoise, dark blue, green... it's almost surreal]
. . . . . . . . .
haven’t found any paperclips on The Cape, but heart-shaped rocks make me smile:
wish you were here.
it’s heaven on earth.
