[currently]
watching: craig ferguson (who i love), conan (who i love but will admit hasn’t found his rhythm on the new show yet but is still 1000% better than leno), the real housewives of nj (which is somehow, despite all the built-in faux-drama and conflict, a pretty boring show)
listening to: the most random mix ever, with lots of the beach boys, the kinks, and squeeze
reading: a signed copy of A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick, last week’s New Yorker, Joyce Carol Oates’ The Falls
browsing: 1000 awesome things, which was recommended by a friend of this blog (thanks!). it’s one of those sites i wish i’d written myself. but sadly, i did not.
inspired by: the little things, soft pink and tiffany blue, glass bottles, and people that give you space but still know just when to pick up the phone
creating: a circle journal. i made the first page – where i wrote about just putting it all down on the page and not judging the quality of the work – and hate that page so much i’m obsessing about how to rip it out and start over. i’m also working on a list-journal, which i don’t quite loathe as much.
swooning over: pink peonies and twinkle lights, and wondering how i can surround myself with both.
and super-duper swooning over: these shoes
wearing: a pedometer all day because if i don’t walk a minimum of 4.5 miles/day, my metabolism slows to a stop and i will never reach my “get to 100 lbs lost by the end of summer” goal
thinking about: cape cod in july, mozart in august, indiana in september, and nyc forever
grateful for: extra snuggle time, soft t-shirts, ripe bananas, a cupboard full of tea (20+ different kinds)
frustrated with: nikon, my (just repaired!) camera that suddenly refuses to work with my two favorite lenses, and the fact that i have to take the camera back in to the shop again
but nevertheless: still wanting the upgrade camera (hello, sweet d700)
but alas: paying em’s tuition in full this month, still paying for my fancy dental work, and not in the mood to take on any new debt right now (and certainly not to dip into the saving-for-a-beach house fund)
. . .
