grateful for the time we get to share, the weeks before i start up rehearsals for a new gig, the end (soon!) of her preschool year, the days we can totally wing it and do whatever we want. together. grateful to have thousands upon thousands of pictures and memories to enjoy, with newly discovered treasures in so many old folders. grateful for the spring showers and the afternoon naps. grateful for our bedtime youtube-time where we watch Hakuna Matata and Be Our Guest every night (and she says “mom, don’t sing!”). grateful for impromptu playdates with our neighbor-friends and art projects involving paint, glitter and a basketful of little sand dollars. grateful for the 75-cent cookie from Glaser’s bakery in the shape of a (purple) dog, which makes a perfect celebration for the end of a 5-day flu. grateful for the way she calls her piggy bank a “pinky bank” and gets so proudly excited to put in each nickel, dime and quarter. grateful to notice the mundane details. grateful to be together. here. now.
