[running down the hill outside Dia: Beacon, 21 February 2009.]

oh mah gosh, y’all… i have so much to tell you! about going to Dia:Beacon and having an amazing time connecting with the space and the light and the art, and watching my three-year-old thoroughly enjoy herself and stay happily well-behaved for five hours inside a museum. about the Merce Cunningham dance performance, and watching that same three-year-old connect with Merce after the show. about the simple joys of watching Em and Bear and Aaron run up and down the hill outside the museum, and how it infectiously drew other families and kids into running the hill as well, until there was just a whole hillside of kids and parents. about these books i discovered by an artist named Louis, and how inspired i am to do something with my own words and papers. about our NYC-pizza-crawl last week and how much fun it is living in the city. about how much i love my husband and my kid, and also frosted flakes. about getting my teeth fixed/whitened and how happy it’s made me feel so far (except for the raging headache i got from caffeine withdrawal after following the “no dark foods/liquids, such as coffee, diet coke, tea…” for 24-hours rule), about my mum’s birthday yesterday and how we were maybe going to be in Vegas this week but decided on Disney World instead, and now keep leaving each other messages which just say “i love mickey!! this is going to be so great!!”, about the research i’m doing for a little bonus-trip to Savannah on the way back with very special friends, and soooo much more…

but guess what? i’ve gotta go. winter’s been kicking my ass, the cold wind is hurting my spirit, the airlines offered me a really sweet deal, and if i can convince Inky to take my new headshots while i’m there, a trip to CA will be a tax write-off (nice line of work i’m in, eh?)! i’m leaving on a jet plane early in the morning, for an oh-so-quick trip…be back soon with more stories to tell!
