oh hi.  busy season, yeah?  i was thinking “wow, i’m so close to being finished”, then i sat down and wrote a list of gifts-unbought.  i stopped numbering the list after 9, but suffice it to say i still have a lot more to pick up before i can settle in for eggnog.  oh, and don’t get me started about the christmas cards…on one hand, they’re going to be really cool.  on the other hand, it will be a miracle if i can even get them back from the printer before christmas.  ah well…happy holiday, i say.  and make no mistake: i’m still not stressing.

really, though, i’m just stopping by for a second.  i have a favor to axe you (said in my finest ny accent).  a request.  there’s something i WANT.  from YOU.  did you know it’s my birthday saturday?  yep.  and did you know there’s a rumor (backed up by an unopened box from apple) that i’m getting a little orange nano-ipod for christmas?  well, it’s all true.  so back to that favor i wanted to axe you: i want you to make me a playlist. it doesn’t have to have a theme, it doesn’t have to be a “birthday mix” or anything…it doesn’t have to be music i don’t already know…it doesn’t have to change my life or provide the final-draft theme song for the movie version of my life.  i just want some playlists.  you don’t even have to burn it onto a cd if you don’t want; just send me the song names/artists, and i’ll put the actual songs files together myself.  please, pretty please?  i already asked my beautiful friend jodi down in georgia for one, and she’s making me one even though she has a little tiny baby, a two year old AND is working retail at christmas…surely you can’t come up with better excuses than that?

thank you kindly.  enjoy these pictures…not sure if i’ve mentioned it, but we went to cape cod over thanksgiving, and i liked it quite a lot.

Melissa Beth…thank you for axeing. It just provided me with a wonderful distraction from a somewhat dank and dreary day. How do you play “six degrees” from Chaka Khan to Jo Dee Messina?…I’ll guess you’ll have to wait to find out (I burned mine for you).
