[our magical mystery thanksgiving tour to Cape Cod: day one]
today started with a beautiful morning drive (complete with good music, dunkin donuts, a soundly asleep toddler in the backseat, & really cheap gas prices) through New England. we began our Cape Cod adventure in the olde towne of Sandwich, where The Dunbar Tea Room proved to be everything i hoped; amazing hearty food, the best pot of tea i’ve ever had (and you know i’ve had plenty of tea in my pretending-to-be-british lifetime), genuine friendly staff, Cape Cod Cupcakes, and a little shop with wonderful treasures like Horlicks and clotted cream (i didn’t buy anything other than the tea, but was oh so very tempted, since i’ve never tried either of those things…). We packed back into the car (pointing out houses and picking favorites along the way…) and got to the hotel just in time to hit the beach before darkness. emma loves the beach as much as her mama, and was only persuaded to come inside with promises that we’ll go back out first thing tomorrow, this time with buckets for collecting shells. our cozy quiet little room has a fireplace, perfect for snuggling and getting some rest before another perfect day tomorrow.
i have so many wonderful, amazing, overwhelming things in life that i’m grateful for. this – my family, my love, the ocean – brings so much of it together for me. i wish you were here, seriously.

Can’t look at those pics without thinking we all could have been reunited if it hadn’t been of that darn surgery!!!!
However, everything went well for me. I’m back home and happy to see that you guys are having fun by the sea . (I love the sea!)
Maybe we should plan to get together down there some time….
Love,

Miss you. I decided I HAVE to come here and blog {I don’t normally blog}. But, I am trying to be “hip” and updated with this blogging thing…it sounds more like a type of dance. ha ha!~
Anyhow, your pictures are candy for my eyes and so refreshing to me. I cannot have you on flickr, but, I will come here for the refreshments. =)
I am glad to know you are well and seem SO happy. I am thankful for good friends. They make the good better and the bad easier to face.
((hugs)) from Idaho.
