[random things: a list]

- i started babysitting the neighbor, Ollie, today. you may be right, i may be crazy… BUT, he’s super cute, and generally less temperamental than Little Miss Sunshine (who has highlighted her issues with the concept of “sharing” today. urgh.).

- i have a new mommy-friend. we took the kids out for pizza slices after school today (even though it was well before the kids’ lunchtime) because we were hungry, she broke the ice by using my favorite f-word in recounting the story of her weekend, and she’s going to “text me” tomorrow about another playdate. the whole mommy-friend/playdate-making business is very much like high school; some of these people you make friends with out of necessity and shared experience, even though you know you’ll stop talking to each other and move on after a few years. could be much worse, i’m sure…

- is there some sort of mental illness/clinical disorder that manifests itself in obsessive pie-baking? i’m getting ready to start mixing together the fixins for my fifth pie this week. thank goodness for the neighbors and guests who help us eat them…

- i have officially become one of those people who blames my moods and unsettledness (is that a word? it is now.) on the phases of the moon. seriously, when i saw that full moon last night, i thought “OH! that explains it! no wonder i’ve been feeling so blue! AND mercury’s in retrograde….OF COURSE the tv broke! OF course my mouse is acting crazy!”. and that sounds silly even to me, but this is the second month in a row where i’ve noticed the full moon coinciding with the height of my crazies, insecurities, and general moodiness.

- color correction, oversaturation, prints that are coming out darker than i thought, even though my monitor’s calibrated (badly, obvs….even i can tell that picture above looks funny). my photography work is giving me total fits of anxiety and frustration, and i’m so tired of having to re-order things.

- there is absolutely no point in “salt-less pretzels”. no point whatsoever.
